Vishnu R Kumar is a documentary filmmaker, cinematographer, and editor whose work explores the intersections of love, reconciliation, and social justice - often through stories grounded in lived experience and cultural complexity.

Originally from Kerala, India, he grew up between the vibrant rhythms of the South and the evolving pulse of urban life. A background in International Relations, followed by a postgraduate degree in Documentary Filmmaking from the University of the Arts London, shaped his deep interest in storytelling that bridges both academic insight and emotional truth.

He is currently based in London, where he works across film, photography, and digital media to amplify underrepresented voices and reimagine narratives from the Global South. His recent film, In Search of a Rainbow, which follows the lives of interfaith and inter-caste couples in India, was longlisted for the 2025 One World Media Awards and is now being developed into a feature-length documentary.
